Valletta Cruise Port Christmas Invite
Valletta Cruise Port plc is the company which handles the cruise & ferry terminal operations and the Valletta Waterfront. The waterfront has nineteen historical 250-year-old sumptuous warehouses, built by Grand Master Pinto at the height of the baroque period in Malta. Stretching along the water’s edge and the historical Quay Wall where the Knights of St John and European merchants used to unload their wares.
The iconic coloured warehouses doors at the Valletta Waterfront represent the storage of goods from days past, with blue for fish, green for produce, yellow for wheat and red for wine. The heritage buildings have been transformed into a diverse variety of lively restaurants, retail outlets and office spaces. The coloured doors are the first and last impression which lingers with our visiting cruise ship guests.
Valletta Cruise Port engaged Visual Trends to design a Christmas marketing campaign to generate local traffic towards the waterfront’s activities and retail outlets. Secondly and most important was the Christmas reception invite which was handed out to highly ranked people and organisations in the society.
Due to the importance and high significance of the doors throughout both the campaign and the reception invite the iconic doors were used creatively as an integral part both in the visual designs and products. Throughout this commission I designed and lead the project and overlooked various components that were needed to fulfill the scope of the project.
